St. Andrew Lutheran, Franklin, TN

Description:

This project consisted of four major components.  The first was the relocation of existing utilities to allow the church to remain in operation until the new services would be installed, toward the end of the project.  Also included in this “phase” was mass excavation, backfill, and the installation of Geo-piers to support the foundation of the new structure.

The second component was the construction of a 9,025 s.f. addition that houses the bell tower, sanctuary, nave, and support areas.  The sanctuary has 42-foot-tall ceilings and utilized exposed timber truss construction.  All of the exposed floors and alter areas were polished concrete.  The entrance bell tower was constructed from poured-in-place concrete 61 feet high.  The exterior of the sanctuary and bell tower were covered in stone.

The third component was the installation of fire sprinklers and a life safety system in the existing building.

The final component consisted of hardscapes, landscaping, and driveway/parking areas.  Pervious asphalt was utilized in addition to the storm water drainage system.
