Orion was chosen as Project Manager for the additions and alterations to the First Baptist Church in Cookeville, Tennessee. Orion’s first task was to erect a new steeple on top of the existing tower, as part of the ground-breaking ceremony. This project included a new 42-foot long loading and unloading canopy and rework of the existing sanctuary, including adding an additional 2,750 square feet of 43-foot high structure to the alter area. This addition required numerous structural modifications, as well as temporary water protection for the many existing spaces that were affected by this project.
Interior work included installation of a new elevator serving four floors, installation of new bathrooms and remodeling of existing, modifications of electrical and HVAC systems, and the installation of ceiling, lights, floor coverings, millwork, and other interior finishes.
